We’re proud to offer convenient and reliable water transportation right here in Placencia. If you’re visiting our beautiful city, here’s how we can help you get around:

• Getting to Independence (near Mango Creek): Need to head to the mainland? We run frequent trips to Independence throughout the day.

  • Where to find us: Look for our terminal near the MNM Hardware Store on the Placencia waterfront, right in the heart of the village. This is where all our boats depart.
  • When we leave: We depart for Independence at 6:45 AM, 10:00 AM, 12:30 PM, 2:30 PM, 4:00 PM, 5:00 PM, and 6:00 PM, Monday through Saturday.
  • What to expect: The ride is quick – just about 15 minutes – and costs around US$5 one-way. We have return trips scheduled throughout the day as well.

• Traveling to Honduras (Puerto Cortés): Planning an international adventure? We can get you started!

  • How it works: We’ll take you from Placencia to Independence, where you’ll easily transfer to the Pride of Belize Ferry for the onward journey to Honduras.
  • Departure Day: This service operates once a week, departing Placencia on Friday mornings at 8:30 AM.
  • Important: We recommend arriving at our dock by 8:00 AM on Fridays to allow time for check-in and boarding.
