Accessing Public Carriage Office Services

Please note the Public Carriage Office is not located at County Hall, but at Sloper Road Bus Depot, Leckwith, Cardiff. If you require a Hackney Carriage or Private Hire Driver licence – either to apply for one or renew it – a personal visit to this location is essential. We do not accept postal applications.

Our Opening Hours:

• Monday to Thursday: 8:30 am - 12:00 noon and 1:30 pm - 4:00 pm
• Friday: 8:30 am - 12:00 noon and 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm

What to Bring with You:

• A completed application form. You can download this as a PDF from the Cardiff Council website.
• Your current 12-month DVLA licence.
• Photographs meeting the required specifications.
• Proof of identity.
• Any additional documentation specifically requested on the application form.
